MUSINGS & MOMENTS
a new project, a new camera, modified full spectrum for infrared. a new medium, prints in the flesh. wish me luck as I film myself and attempt to share more with other creators and photographers, filmmakers.
This new project, printing an actual magazine (mini-magazine, technically) feels like a combination of works, building on the past few years, as well as an appreciation for design I have always had.
Making something, however, is a new challenge with more nuance than you realize going into it. I am embracing that challenge. I grew up doing with a focus on abstract, black and white.. and have a gaining interest in Infrared / Near-Infrared / Full Spectrum photography.
This post marks the beginning of a new project I am calling Ultralight. These above images achieve an other-worldly look, this is done by capturing infrared light as well as normal/visible light...
Ha Pham is the model in these photos, and she is a very talented artist in the Sarasota area. Thank you to her for working with me on my first portrait/person shoot in this new experimental style. (link to Ha’s Instagram)
I take this camera with me most everywhere I go - please enjoy viewing some of the images I have made around the United States.
But the only trick we play is really on ourselves. The pretending we aren’t humans full of contradictions and illogical, emotional, complicated variables; it really is absurd.

I felt compelled to acquire a niche device within the niche.. a Monochrome camera (which only shoots in black and white) with a fixed 28mm lens.

For reasons I don’t care to relive by typing, we left Florida a day & 5 hours behind schedule.
(Southwest Florida to be more specific; Sarasota was our sans-Champagne embarkation point).
We managed to dodge the worst of I-75 & I-4 traffic by the skin of our tires. Well on our way to escape Florida by nightfall.

Over the years however I have developed methods and practices to keep me moving in some sort of direction..
Chief among them, the Motorcycle. Often taking a different shape, color, make or model, but always a two-wheeled, faster than necessary mode of transportation.
I take this camera with me most everywhere I go - please enjoy viewing some of the images I have made around the United States.

In two days of driving I have made it to Kansas - only one more day will put me at the feet of the Rockies (for the 4th time).
