8 hours was our layover the first eve. Just enough shuteye to wake up without an alarm. And enough grains of sand through the glass to down a couple eggs with toast.

We had places to get to, more than places to be.

Spray the bugs off the windshield & helmet, check the luggage straps, and ask for the location of the nearest starbucks (an atypical question if you know me, but hey, I’ll gladly drink a fru fru iced drink before betting on what awaits within the gas station batch brewer).

it seems people approach more than usual this time around (across) - something drawing them near; curious. Perhaps its the near-canary yellow hue of the Suzuki, perhaps it is the unassuming demeanor we banter with one another at the gas pump. Or something else altogether. Perhaps.
